It gives us great pleasure to extend to you a hearty welcome to this Christian family. We are pleased that you have chosen to visit our website and pray that you enjoy your stay. Our theme for this year is, "20-20 Vision: Looking To God." Supporting scripture: II Ch. 20:12, 20b.
Our goal here at Victory is to know Jesus Christ and make Him known. Jesus said, "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, because you have love one to another." We are happy to offer you our love and the joy of our fellowship over the internet in a place where you can feel comfortable, welcome, and also free to enjoy the peace and love of the Lord.

Affirmation of Faith
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful humans, A personal reception of the Lord Jesus Christ and regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
We believe that there is one God, Eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, The only infallible, authoritative Word of God. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, In His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, That by the cleansing and indwelling of the Spirit, we are enabled to live a godly life.
We believe in the spiritual unity of the believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, That there is neither Jew nor Gentile, bond nor free; we are all one in Christ Jesus.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
Church History
Victory Tabernacle Church was founded in 1986 by Elder James P. Perkins. The church was birthed out of the prayers of the saints, beginning in the home of Elder Perkins. Services consisted of Bible Study and Prayer. Our group was small in number but the Lord was in the midst of us.
In God's timing, He opened doors for us to hold our worship services at the Mount Calvary Holy Church at 1014 Old Garner Road. The late Mother Elizabeth Lewis was the Pastor of Mount Calvary at that time, and we will never forget the love and kindness that she extended to us. During our time at Mount Calvary, many people gave their lives to Christ, and many joined the ministry.
In 1988, we moved our services to the YWCA at 554 E. Hargett Street where God saved more souls and continued to bless us and add to the ministry. We remained in the YWCA for six years.
God had given Elder Perkins a vision for this ministry, and we had to learn how to wait patiently on the Lord. There were times when we felt that we were in the wilderness, but God was with us. We knew that in God's timing, our season would surely come. We were in the Potter's house and we knew that when he finished with us, we would come forth as pure gold.
After many days of prayer, fasting and seeking the Lord for direction, He opened the door for us to obtain the building located at 328 W. South Street. The building was in dire need of renovation, and Pastor Perkins and the men of Victory worked diligently with skill and grace to prepare this new facility for our congregation. On Easter Sunday, April 3, 1994, we held our first worship service. A dedication service was held on June 12, 1994.
The road has been long and hard, but we thank God for the VICTORY.
TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!
